Zip Moving lures you in with a low quote, only to hit you with massive unexpected charges once they arrive. We fell for their seemingly reasonable pricing after a FaceTime estimate, paid our deposit, and signed the contract—thinking we were making a smart choice. Big mistake!

On moving day, the crew immediately claimed our move would take two trips and possibly go until midnight, costing far more than their initial quote. We had no choice but to agree, even paying for additional labor when they called in more movers. This bait-and-switch pricing tactic is something you’ll see in many of their reviews—dig deeper, and you'll find that this is their standard scam.

Then came the property damage. In a reckless attempt to bring their truck closer to the basement, they got stuck in the rain, tearing up the yard and leaving deep ruts in the soil. Since our home was already sold, we had to pay for a landscaper to fix the damage—over $1,400 out of pocket.

The worst part? Their complete disregard for our belongings**. They placed my wife’s jewelry armoire on top of a brand-new dresser that had just been delivered, only for me to discover gouges in the surface underneath—clearly covered up intentionally. When I confronted the supervisor, he took photos, said he’d report it—and then ghosted us for weeks.

After weeks of silence, they finally responded, telling us to file an insurance claim. We did, hoping for fair compensation for over $2,500 in damages. Their response? A laughable $120 as a so-called “goodwill gesture.”

Zip Moving is a deceptive, negligent company that damages property and refuses to take accountability. Their low quotes are a trap, their crews are reckless, and their customer service is nonexistent. DO NOT TRUST THEM.

If you value your time, money, and belongings, find a reputable moving company—one that won’t scam you, destroy your property, and then disappear.

Yeah, no. Avoid these guys. Just too many surprises and now, several weeks later, no response at all from the complaint I left w customer service. Oh, and be sure you withdraw cash to pay or they nail you for a 4% fee to use the card. The crew wasnottoblame and I tipped them, but too many shocks and surprises to be able to recommend this company. We had a piano on the list, sent pictures, was charged a bulky item fee, only to be told at the last minute they would not move it. Surprise! Eventually they did send a crew to help and moved it for an additional $100. What can ya do? They got ya.

This was our first time using Zip Moving. We had a great experience getting the initial quote. We completed the video walkthrough for a more accurate estimate. Then the pricing was clear and transparent. I liked the customer portal where we could access our quote, moving inventory, make payments, and view details about our move. Leading up to the move, Skylar was very communicative, giving us updates and checking in along the way. Then on the day of the move we had a great crew. Miguel and the rest of the team were professional, hard-working, and friendly. There were no hidden fees or unexpected charges. We had a great moving day and couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. We highly recommend Zip Moving & Storage and will be repeat customers when it's time to move again.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!! We have over $15,000 of damaged furniture and personal items that cannot be replaced. They will offer you next to nothing and then require that you change your review to a five star rating. BEWARE! The ratings online are fake!!! There’s no telling how many people took a joke of a settlement and then had to change their ratings and remove their pictures. My whole master bedroom smelled like pot/weed and hours later the guy up there still hadn’t packed up everything. Total waste of money! Then he let my dresser bounce down our staircase with no padding. Of course there’s a hole in the bottom of it now and one drawer doesn’t close. Check Google and Yelp reviews for more details and pictures.

November 2024 - Terrible Moving Experience

Writing a review here to warn people away from this company. Pretty standard intake process - everything seemed fine - but when the guys showed up (Sergio and two other guys), they immediately started rolling their eyes, saying they needed at least two additional hours (at $150/hr, which is a reasonable rate).

I told them that I moved all this stuff into the place with two other guys in under 3 hours. They rolled their eyes and started counting the boxes. 1-by-1 the man is counting boxes and huffing and puffing like he's never seen boxes before -- they spent 30 minutes trying to get me to commit to additional hours. I refused.

Instead, they took "only what they had time for," which was about half the stuff. They made a big show of moving incredibly slowly -- I would sprint past them carrying boxes and items and things, trying to speed the process along.

When we arrived at the destination, I started helping them unload. Every time I ran down to the truck (we were moving my mother-in-law into a retirement community), Sergio would try to get her to sign off and hand him her credit card. "We get payment in the middle of the job; that's how we do it," he kept saying.

Finally, after spending another 30 minutes haggling with me (while his two guys slowly unloaded the truck), I talked to his manager and let them run my credit card. The MINUTE they ran my card, the guys wheeled the last boxes in and left with 20 minutes remaining on the 3-hour clock. They did not even take the tape off the furniture; they didn't put my MIL's bed back together, which was the main reason we hired movers. Huge pieces of solid-wood furniture were just left stacked amongst boxes in the middle of the hallway.

I cannot stress enough how much you should avoid this company. You'll read this, and then you'll read some good reviews, and maybe you'll decide to give them a shot. DON'T. They will try to upcharge you on the hours, and then they will go slowly to make sure the job takes the most time that they can possibly milk out of you. Don't do it.
